Why This Dish is Healthy
By air-frying or using less oil, this Sev Namkeen retains its authentic taste but drastically lowers saturated fat and overall calories. Using besan instead of refined flours boosts protein and fiber, promoting satiety and stable energy levels. The inclusion of rice flour adds crunch without excess calories, and spices not only enhance flavor but also provide health benefits. This recipe is perfect for those seeking tasty, guilt-free Indian snacks.
This Sev Namkeen recipe is rich in protein and fiber, thanks to besan (gram flour) which is made from chana dal. Besan is a gluten-free flour (unless cross-contaminated) and offers essential minerals like iron, magnesium, and folate. The addition of ajwain aids digestion, while spices like turmeric and hing have anti-inflammatory properties. With minimal oil, the fat content is reduced, making it suitable for calorie-conscious diets.
